Welcome to the weekly round-up. I hope you have all had a great week on ITaP 2 with some of you having first-hand experience of an Ofsted inspection. If you have not yet sent Assie your SE1 induction check-list, please can you do this as soon as possible. Kate has also asked that you let her know asap if you have not received your University of Leicester ID badge.
We would expect mentors to have your teaching time-tables ready by the end next week. This will enable you to start completing Class Context forms for your teaching grips. Please don't forget to also read the pupil passports where appropriate.
Next week:
Monday's training is Inclusion 1 with David Robinson, who is the Trust Inclusion Lead (and a GUTP Maths graduate). In the afternoon we have training with Kit Scott on Equality and Diversity including LGBT+ and issues relating to bullying and mental health. Kit is a GUTP English graduate and teaches at Sponne.
Wednesday Twilight is the first of the subject seminars. You should already have had information from your Subject Leader relating to preparation for the evening. Some subjects e.g. Maths have the reading pre-populated into their Subject Training, Reflection and Tracking document. These can be found in your subject folders here
You will need the in-school training record for week 5
Things to be working on:
School Induction Task - Task 1: Meeting with the SENDo (or delegated person) as a group. When: Any time in Term 1.
School Induction Task - Task 2: School Context When: Anytime in Term 1 with the presentation taking place in week 8 or 9. (A person working on their own, may appear to have a greater workload than someone working in a group, however, it is also true that some things can be achieved more quickly when one is relying solely on oneself. Just a thought. That said, we are mindful of workload, so if you have concerns, please speak to us).
Task 3: Shadowing a TA. When: Any time in Term 1.
Class Context SE1 forms. When: anytime in Term 1 ready for teaching.
