Dear All,
Welcome to the weekly round-up. It has been a busy week for everyone with starting in schools, induction processes and micro-teaching to round off our first ITaP on Classroom Routines. I will endeavor to ensure I have all the key reminders of what you are working on in this bulletin to support you. We know that there is a lot to remember.
Next week:
Next week sees the launch of ITaP 2: How Pupils Learn. On Monday you will be in training at GUTP House 9-3.30 with Nathan. The rest of the week you are in subject teams with your subject leader looking at how pupils learn in your specialist subject. There is no Wednesday twilight next week. You will need your ITaP 2 work booklet and the related observation form, which can be found here:
There is no in-school training record for next week.
Things to be working on:
Complete the SE1 induction check-list sent to you by Assie. Please return to Assie and save on your Drive area. Please can this be completed by Monday 21st September.
Familiarise yourself with the Curriculum Task Booklet. I will be talk to you about the School Group Task on Monday. Please download the booklet and save in your area. The booklet can be found here:
https://drive.google.com/ drive/folders/ 13AtqyW0Dp2WOCwqcsrvtQLTbFYFVZ Q91. Lots of you have been looking at this, (well done) and, quite rightly, have had queries around deadlines relating to this. Perhaps I should have not mentioned it last week! Anyway, you do not need to start working on this yet, as you have plenty to do. I would aim to start working on the tasks Tuesday 29th onwards.
School Induction Task - Task 1: Meeting with the SENDCo (or delegated person) as a group. When: Any time in Term 1.
School Induction Task - Task 2: School Context When: Anytime in Term 1 with the presentation taking place in week 8 or 9. (A person working on their own, may appear to have a greater workload than someone working in a group, however, it is also true that some things can be achieved more quickly when one is relying solely on oneself. Just a thought. That said, we are mindful of workload, so if you have concerns, please speak to us).
Task 3: Shadowing a TA. When: Any time in Term 1.
Curriculum Development Task. When: This is best completed in Term 2 as you start to teach. Before Assessment Point 2 (end of November/February for part-time)
Subject Task 1. When: agreed with subject leader
Class Context SE1 forms. When: anytime in Term 1 ready for teaching.
SEND case study. When: begin working on this in Term 2. The presentation to the SEND Lead will take place later in Term 2, likely mid December. TBC
Training, Reflection and Tracking document and also the Subject Substantive Knowledge document. There has been a typo in the Training, Reflection and Tracking document. Thank you, Riley, for making us aware. Please delete any rows referring to weeks 3 and 4. Due to ITaP you cannot start this tracking until week 5. Our apologies, we had some changes to embed from last year and that one slipped through.
Questions:
There have been quite a few questions via email, which I hope have been answered in the bulletin or directly to any individuals. Please shout, if we have missed you!
