Hopefully all your trainees had a positive induction with you last week - that you got them to meet the wider teams they will be working with and that you got them started in their classroom experience embedding the skills they had rehersed in ITaP 1.1-1.5.

We did not have streams equivalent to all of our mentors - so if you did not engage - please do make an effort at access this weekly training to support you in being a highly effective mentor.

Focus Period: Week 4
1.🎓 Summary of Week 4 Training
Trainees:
During Week 4 Mondays training back into ITAP, starting with a day at GUTP for :
Monday: TAP 2.1 How Pupils Learn 1 : Rosenshine's Principles of instruction and introduction to planning.
They will then be going out to subject leads/ directed by subject leads for the rest of the week for :
Tuesday:ITAP 2.2 How Pupils Learn - Exposition and modelling High-Quality Oral Language
Wednesday : ITAP 2.3 How Pupils Learn - modelling
Thursday: ITAP 2.4 How Pupils Learn - scaffolding covering verbal and non-verbal scaffolds
Friday :ITAP 2.5 How Pupils Learn - planning in the subject. They will plan and co-deliver content for the first time in this session with the support of an expert colleague.

2.🎯 Core Content Focus (Week 4)
Building directly on the Week 3 training, the core content focus for Week 4 centers on embedding and practicing key classroom routines during ITaP (Intensive Training and PracticeThey are adding in developing their Subject Knowledge, High Expectations and Classroom Practice.
3. Focused Observation Theme
- Trainees will be directed by their Subject Leads on the focused observations Tuesday-Friday to align with the theme for the day.
4.🛠️ Deliberate Practice Focus
- Deliberate Practice Theme: ITaP Workbook Practical Application
- Task Overview: Complete the designated deliberate practice activities outlined in the ITaP Workbook.
- Mentor Guidance: This week Deliberate Practice is led by Subject Leads not mentors.
5. 📍 Weekly Developmental Target
- No target of In School Training Record this week as they are on ITAP all week away from you.
